Fantastic growing conditions in 2018 saw the shiraz picked ripe and rich with vibrant red fruit on the nose and palate. The growing season was ideal for allowing us to harvest with good acidity as well as phenolic ripeness. With rich dark fruit and chocolate aromas coupled perfectly with a vibrant blackcurrant palate, this wine is complemented with notes of aniseed and pepper with a long delicate oak texture. On the palate, the sweetness has married perfectly with silky tannins from the Pyrenees to produce a velvety texture.

This wine has the elegance and structure expected from our terroir and delivers in every aspect required from this fantastic style of wine.

95% Shiraz, 2% Mataro, 2% Cabernet Sauvignon, 1% Viognier.

Product description

Established in 1969, Taltarni Vineyards is one of the pioneering wineries of Victoria’s Pyrenees wine region. Owner John Goelet, a direct descendant of the Guestier wine merchant family of Bordeaux, discovered and purchased Taltarni Vineyard after conducting a worldwide search for a site comparable to the great vineyards of Bordeaux.
Initial plantings were of Bordeaux varieties, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. Shortly thereafter, Taltarni extended its plantings to encompass Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Shiraz as well as Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, enabling us to now showcase a diverse portfolio of sparkling, red and white wines.
Dedicated to practices that care for the land and reduce our environmental footprint, this can be seen most evidently in Taltarni’s approach to sustainability and viticulture. By preserving the natural value of the land, they’re able to produce brighter grapes with balanced acidity that truly reflects the terroir. The combination of many environmental initiatives, along with the skills and expertise of our winemaking and vineyard teams, has resulted in the production of renowned, award-winning wines.

Postal Delivery

Standard delivery is £9.99 and may take up to 10 working days, although under normal circumstances your order should be delivered within 3-5 working days.

Returns

How long do I have to return an item to you? We will accept returns up to and including 7 days from the day of delivery.

How do I return an item? Simply return the item to the following address within the specified time, using any postal service. Remember to use a service that requires a signature and includes insurance as responsibility remains with you until we have signed for it.

Remember to enclose the printed returns note with your item or it may delay processing.

We try hard to accept all returns but returns must be in original packaging and in original condition. In the unlikely event that an item is returned in an unacceptable condition the item may be returned to you.
