Pea 'Hurst Green Shaft' is double podded, producing particularly heavy yields of up to 11 peas per 10-12cm (4- 4 1/2") pod. Hurst Green Shaft has remained a reliable and highly popular customer favourite for many years., Still an exhibitor favourite, this superb RHS AGM variety has a fabulous flavour and freezes nicely. Pea 'Hurst Green Shaft' also shows good resistance to downy mildew and fusarium wilt. Height: 75cm (30"). Spread: 25cm (10").

Sowing

Direct sow peas outdoors from March to June, once the soil has warmed. Choose a weed-free position on moist, fertile, well drained soil in full sun. Sow pea seed in flat bottomed drills at a distance of 5cm (2") apart, and 4cm (1 1/2") deep. Allow a distance of 75cm (30") between rows. For successional crops, sow peas every 10 days.   More Info Support pea plants with twiggy sticks, wire or netting as they grow, and use fine netting to protect pea crops from birds and pea moth damage. When growing peas, regular and thorough watering especially when in flower will improve crop yields. Harvest peas around 14 weeks after sowing when the pods have swollen. Regular picking will encourage further cropping.

Returns

You can return an item to us for either exchange or refund within 21 days of receiving it, providing that the product is unused, and in the condition that it arrived in, including any packaging.
